Another traditional party, the New Year celebration. So here it is a new wallpaper for the StartUbuntu project, a great initiative commanded by Amjjawad that supports people that leave Windows XP in favour of a new Lubuntu install on their systems.

As usual, every festive season has its own dedicated wallpaper. And Christmas is, without any doubt, the most celebrated party around the globe. And as this became a tradition, here are some Lubuntu related wallpapers (1280×1024). Choose your flavour!

The poll has come to an end and we have five new wallpapers for
Lubuntu 13.10. We had a total of 1699 unique voters that picked their
5 favourite wallpapers (= 8495 votes), here are the winning
submissions:

I personally want to thank everyone that in any form made a
contribution to this contest – competitors, voters, promoters,
everyone. Also, a big thank you goes to Guillaume Le Roy who once
again helped us host our contest at Picomp – a great tool
and service of his that we’ve used for several contests now.
Next contest will be held sometime in March and will decide our
default wallpapers for Lubuntu 14.04!

As 13.10 is getting closer, it’s time to announce the community wallpaper contest for the new Saucy Salamander release. The contest will decide five additional wallpapers that will be included by default with Lubuntu 13.10.

As we celebrated the Samhein or the New Year with a Lubuntized wallpaper, now it’s time to make another one dedicated to my beloved fiesta, at the city of València in Spain, called Falles.
For those who don’t know what’s this about, just tell them it’s an ancient cult to the fire itself, as a life renewal symbol and the joy of passing through seasons (from autumn into spring). And they do this burning paper-made monuments (ephemeral art) that represent bad things of the year.
I hope you enjoy this wallie and everybody is invited to come to València and see by themselves the festival on every street. Bones Falles!
